Spend Sundays smiling and hi-fiving your young chef with Ambrosia Kitchen, as they learn to COOK and create from menus. Children ages 8-14 are the chefs of the class as they learn cooking essentials such as proper and safe knife skills, the value of measuring, and the importance of sanitation.

Your young chef will be hands on and encouraged to be creative in a small group setting. The class will end with a tasty experience made with love and an understanding of the creative culinary process.

Our Kitchen has an old-school home economics feeling allowing for lots of space.  

Highlights

  • Class is designed for ages 8 – 14.  We have been known to allow super mature students into the class.

  • We cook with nut free ingredients. Almond milk and nuts are used in the kitchen, just not used in ANY of our childrens classes.

  • Let us know if your child has allergies. Let us know if your child has allergies.

  • A full refund will be provided if class is cancelled due to inclement weather

  • Cancellation must be within 3 days to receive a full refund.  

  • We have multiple child and group rates. Group Rates are for 3 or more students. Email us for more information.

  • There is a free parking lot available with an entrace on 46th street. There is also street parking on Chestnut. The High School is accessible by SEPTA.  

  • The Kitchen is located on the 3rd floor.  Let us know if you need special accomodations otherwise, take the stairs to the 3rd floor. Students will be standing and cooking most of the classroom time.

  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and long hair should be tied back.  

  • We have an area for parents to wait and relax. You do not have to wait. We prefer for parents and guadians to remain in the adjoined classroom during class sessions.  

  • We do not allow cell phones into the kitchen. We give the students an opportunity to take pictures at the end.

    • Before 1 PM ENTER on Chestnut Street through the Wooden Doors.  Walk up steps; Turn Right & go up the steps to the 3rd Floor.  We are located on the 3rd floor. 

    • After 1 PM Please enter through Blue Doors connected to the Walkway from the Parking Lot

April 7        Sushi Roll Making

Junior Chefs will learn & practice the Art of Sushi Making.  This is an introductory class that will focus on cleanliness, knife skills, & the art of Rolling.  We are making veggie rolls–no RAW fish food will be handled.  Learn to make beautiful and delicious sushi rolls and more with Ambrosia Kitchen.  

April  17 & 18th     SPRING BREAK Cooking 101 for Children 

Junior Chefs will practice techniques in the kitchen.  They will explore slicing, dicing, chopping, mixing, plate presentation and other fundamentals.  Lunch will be prepared and eaten family style by 

April 21  (Easter)       Everything Eggs
Junior chefs will learn how to prepare various egg techniques such as sunny-side up, Overeasy, scrambled & fritatas to begin.  They will make their own salsas and sauces to accompany their homemade creations
