Topic: Conversion Story
By: Father Bartus

As facilitator of Theology on Tap – Orange County, Father Bartus has never yet himself been a speaker at it, but has been asked to tell his conversion story.

From Southern Baptist/non-denominational, to skeptic, to Presbyterian, to near-skeptic (mere Christianity), to Episcopalian/Anglican (Calvinist variety to high church Anglo-Catholic variety), to finally Roman Catholic, come hear Father’s conversion story. There is no “Damascus Road” element in this, but rather a string of discoveries from studying history, theology, apologetics, philosophy, liturgy, and ecclesiology. Don’t worry if you’re not an expert in any of these, hopefully some information will be helpful; if you are one, you may be able to add to the conversation!

Father will also discuss the challenges in bringing in people with him into the Church, and he will explain the evangelizing mission of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (the non-geographical diocese Pope Benedict XVI established), and Orange County’s parish of Blessed John Henry Newman in Irvine.
