You’re invited to join St. Monica Catholic Church for a Parish Lenten Mission featuring Dr. John Bergsma on February 17th & 18th.

Dr. Bergsma is a Full Professor of Theology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, in Steubenville, Ohio. He will give presentations on the following topics:

HOW THE BIBLE MADE ME CATHOLIC
“That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard!” came the reply over the phone. John Bergsma had just told his brother he was becoming Catholic. What would motivate a young Protestant pastor and bible scholar to suddenly switch to the “dark side”? Was it for money? For fame? Or … could it actually be the Bible that was making John Catholic? Dr. Bergsma explains in this impactful talk.

CONFESSION AS SPIRITUAL WARFARE
You’ve probably heard people say that Catholic confession is a human rule, invented by the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages. There is no reason to confess your sins to a mere man.

That’s what Dr. John Bergsma believed for most of his life. In this talk he describes how he came to a different point of view, through his experiences as a Protestant pastor in spiritual warfare.
